‘Friends and Crocodiles’ by Stephen Polliakoff
26 January 2006I was looking forward to the Stephen Polliakoff TV drama ‘Friends and Crocodiles’ which we watched this week but was quite disappointed by it. Although it was visually wonderful, I found it a bit slow and boring. He does the wide-eyed wonder and mystery thing very well but, for me, it didn’t create the same ‘wow-factor’ here as he managed in ‘The Lost Prince’ or ‘Shooting the Past’. Maybe the Polliakoff style didn’t fit this setting (following yuppy venture capitalists through the highs and lows of the 1980s and 90s).
